Advent Bible Reading Plan
One of Satan’s main strategies to destroy souls is to distract us from looking to Jesus, because It is by looking to Jesus that we become the people God created us to be.
Christmas has become so disconnected from Christ, that people spend far more time looking at themselves than at Jesus.
For this reason we prefer to call this season “Advent”—a time when our hearts and minds intentionally focus on the Advent (coming) of Christ into the world. To help us keep our minds fixed on Jesus and His advent, I put together an Advent Bible Reading Plan for the month of December and I wanted to share that with you.
Each day includes a Bible reading (you may read the long text, or the short one), a brief summary showing how that passage points to Jesus, and a song to help engrain these truths in your heart. The readings move from Old Testament promises and prophecies of the coming Savior, through the birth of Jesus in the Gospels, and on to His commissioning of His disciples to carry the message of hope and forgiveness to the world.
Whether you’re a longtime follower of Jesus or simply curious to learn more about Him, this reading plan will help you grow in your understanding of the grand storyline of Scripture—and how the hopes and fears of all the years are met in Christ.
I hope you and your family are blessed by it. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
—John 6:40
